We highly respect your privacy and value your right to the simplest and most transparent understanding of how this website operates. The objective is to be fully compliant with GDPR regulations and data protection principles.

If you have any questions, concerns, or comments you can send an email to hi@whatsonnow.ie.

What type of information is collected?

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, please be advised that you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who is able to gain access to your details?

We utterly respect your right to privacy so you can rest assured that under no circumstances will we sell or rent your information to any third parties, nor will we give access to your details for marketing purposes.

What are your rights?

In line with GDPR regulations which are in effect from 25th May 2018, you may ask us for a copy of the details we hold for you. You can equally request us to edit, adjust or delete any or all of this information. We are obliged to deliver upon your request within 30 days under GDPR legislation.

How do we protect your information?

We go to considerable lengths to ensure any personal information is protected. This is done via the use of a security certificate (SSL), encryption and other security measures.

Breaches

If an extraordinary situation arises where any sensitive data has been breached, hacked or stolen, it is our policy to notify you as soon as possible of such breaches, along with our contingency plan to limit any potential damage arising from such a breach.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Listings on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with?

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

reCAPTCHA

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. reCAPTCHA is used to fight spam and abuse on this website.

How long do we retain your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Where we send your data?

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Minors

If you are under 18 years old, parental/guardian permission is required before any personal information is provided to us.
